My take on Attention!

  • 1 min read

One thing I noticed this week is that attention is expensive. People may scroll for hours, but that does not mean they are truly paying attention. A message has to earn attention quickly, especially online. This is something I learned while working on my video script.

The first few seconds matter. If the opening is weak, the viewer may never reach the main point. That made me think about communication in general. Whether I am writing an email, giving a presentation, creating a video, or speaking in a meeting, I should not assume people will automatically care. I need to show them why the message matters.

At the same time, grabbing attention should not mean exaggerating or manipulating people. A good hook should be honest. It should invite the audience into the message, not trick them into watching. I want to become better at creating openings that are clear, interesting, and useful. Strong communication respects the audience’s time.
