Social Media can help do a Marvelous Work!

Doctrine and Covenants 4:1–3 talks about a “marvelous work” coming forth and invites those who desire to serve God to do the work with all their heart, might, mind, and strength. When I think about social media, I can see both good and bad sides. It can waste time, spread anger, and distract people. But it can also become part of a marvelous work when it is used to share light, truth, encouragement, and testimony.

I have seen social media help people find uplifting messages when they are discouraged. I have seen Church videos, scripture posts, family history stories, and simple testimonies reach people who may never have heard them in a formal church setting. Sometimes one short message can remind someone to pray, attend church, forgive, or keep trying.

The role I want to play is simple. I want to use social media with more purpose. That does not mean every post has to be religious, but it does mean my content should reflect my values. I want to share things that build faith, strengthen families, encourage learning, and help people feel closer to Jesus Christ.
